Smoking is not permitted in any of the bedrooms however we do have designated smoking areas where residents can smoke if they wish to.

Communal

 garden 2

We have several communal areas in the home which are used very often by residents. The main area is the lounge, this area is where all the entertainment for the residents is held, we also have a large television in the lounge should any of the residents wish to watch it.

Another popular area is the conservatory, this is more of a quiet area so residents can sit and chat amongst each other. From the conservatory there are beautiful views of the garden which makes sitting in this area a real pleasure.

The garden has recently been refurbished with a gazebo, ample seating and lots of new plants, all the residents have commented how nice it is to have somewhere nice to sit outside.

Facilities

At St Michaels we try to offer lots of facilities to make living here a real pleasure.

We have our own little shop which is open all day every day, we have all the basic toiletries, drinks, sweets and snacks. If a resident would like something that is not available from our shop their key worker will go to the shop themselves to pick up the items they want.

We have a hairdresser who comes in every weekday morning, a chiropodist who visits every six weeks and a beautician who visits every wednesday. There is an extra charge for these services, but they can be added to your monthly bill for your convenience.

Other services available include daily activities that are advertised around the home. We have regular coffee mornings inviting the people from the local community to come along and entertainers that are brought in at no extra cost.

We have a doctor’s surgery on Thursday afternoon, but you can see at other times if requested. We can also arrange for you to see an optician and a dentist if you wish.

Residents have the use of a pay phone if they wish to use it, relatives can also call up on this phone to talk to residents.
